Nissan Armada Overview

The Armada is Nissan’s answer to the full-size SUV market and it was produced specifically for the North American Market. The First gen Armada was made in Canton, Mississippi and it ran from 2003 through the 2015 model year.

By the time the second generation Armada rolled off the assembly line, the SUV was being made in Japan and shipped to the U.S.

As with most Nissans, a luxurious version of the Armada was sold under the Infiniti brand first as the QX56 and later as the QX80.

The Armada was never light on power. In fact, the Nissan came equipped with a 5.6-liter, V8 engine, with a five-speed transmission and an optional four-wheel drive trim.

Over the years, Nissan made a number of updates to the Armada’s look. First in 2008, again in 2011, which also brought new trim levels – SV, SL, and Platinum, then again in 2013, 2014, 2017, and 2020.

The Armada was and still is a very popular SUV. In 2019 alone, there were more than 32,000 units sold.
