4 Tips for Selling a Used Car in Buckeye to a Scrapyard

Below we’ve gathered a number of helpful tips for car sellers looking to sell both good-working and junk cars. The last thing you want is to sell your car only to discover you could’ve gotten more money for it. To avoid seller’s remorse, follow this advice the best you can.

    #1 Do Your Research

It’s important that you understand your vehicle’s value is seen differently by the various types of car buyers in Buckeye. When it comes to buyers, you have local dealerships, auto brokers, lead generation companies, and scrapyard buyers like Sell Us Your Car. The latter is, arguably, the most lucrative options for anyone trying to sell a dilapidated car as automotive recyclers are able to strip down the car for usable parts, metals, and other recyclable components. So, do your due diligence, and call around!

    #2 Prepare Your Vehicle

When selling a scrap car, the price doesn’t reflect the cleanliness of your vehicle. So just grab your personal items, paperwork, loose change, and license plate. Used car sellers want to make their vehicles look as clean and like new as possible as this will likely increase the amount they’ll receive.

    #3 Gather the Necessary Documentation

In order for SUYC to buy your junk car, you have to show proof of ownership. This can be done with a title or bill of sale in your name, accompanied by a state-issued ID card.

#4 Be Honest About the Vehicle’s Issues

Please be honest and upfront with our dispatch team about the condition of your vehicle and, in return, we’ll make an honest and fair cash offer. We make offers on vehicle unseen and would hate to have to rescind or reduce our offer upon finding out your automobile isn’t as described.

Sell Us Your Car Company Logo About Sell Us Your Car

As the number one buyer of used autos and cash for junk cars operation in Buckeye, many ask us how we do it. It’s simple… Sell Us Your Car pays more! But how are we able to offer more than our competitors? Here’s how:

    • We have a pick-a-part lot in Casa Grande, we sell used car parts online, and we process end-of-life vehicles – sending metals directly to refineries.
    • As direct buyers, we avoid paying unncessary parties. When we buy directly from customers, as opposed to buying vehicles or leads that our competitors are offering, we’re able to offer more cash.
    • We don’t rely on preconfigured website forms to offer quotes. Instead, we make real-time offers based on current metal market values.
    • We value you and your business and we want customers to walk away from every transaction feeling good about the deal. So we’re not going to lose a deal haggling over a few dollars.
    • Perhaps the most important reason for offering more is that we know more money in your pocket creates a more vitalized economy and we want to give back to our community as best we can.

Our mission also involves making the car-selling process as seamless as possible too. Here’s how we do this:

    1. You get an instant quote online or by calling the number provided during normal business hours.
    2. We’ll dispatch a tow truck driver to pay you and collect your car around your busy schedule.
    3. We pay you cash on the spot when our driver arrives. You don’t have to wait days for a check to clear.
    4. We have no charge for standard towing jobs. Other operations try to make money on towing.
    5. We also do the transfer-of-title paperwork with ADOT so that you don’t have to worry about that. In other words, when you see your vehicle riding off into the sun on the back of our tow truck, your burden also disappears.

We also want to encourage you to call around to get multiple offers. That way you know we aren’t lying when we say we offer more!

If you’re wondering whether we buy your vehicle or not, rest assured we do! But give us a call if you’re unsure. We buy junk cars, all standard cars, motorbikes, box trucks, buses, construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and even farm equipment.

How Do I Know the Difference Between a Used and Junker Car?

Most cars are obviously either decrepit clunkers or resell worthy simply by looking at them. However, some junk cars looking perfectly normal from the inside and out, but hide serious mechanical issues. Most junkers don’t run well, have been wrecked, and in need of expensive repair work. Most car dealers and dealerships won’t take junk cars in trade.

Used cars are good-running, for the most part, and have few issues. The difference between selling a junk and used car can be several hundred dollars or more.

What Sort of Cars and Trucks Do You Buy?

Just about every car – wagon, sedan, compact, sport, convertible – pickup truck, van, or SUV is welcome at SUYC. We also look to acquire construction vehicles – backhoes, loaders, dozers, excavators, and forklifts; farm equipment – tractors, cultivators, spreaders, seeders, and harrows; and large trucks – haulers, cement, box, tow, fire, transporter, garbage, semis, and more.

Do Cars You Buy in Buckeye Have to Drive?

Not necessarily. We offer free towing, so if your junker won’t move, we’ll move it for you. Used cars that still have some mileage on them should be in good mechanical order (start and drive). Derelict vehicles welcome!

I Have a Car in Buckeye for Sale with a Lien, Will You Buy It?

A car with a lien cannot be legally sold as the holder is the rightful owner. You have to get a lien release prior to selling your car.

    Buckeye Junk Car

    About Buckeye

    Maricopa County, Arizona

Although Buckeye is close to 50 miles from downtown Phoenix, the suburban city of 105,000-plus residents is considered part of the greater metropolitan area. And like its neighboring cities, Buckeye cruises well into the triple digits during the height of summer. This heat can wreak havoc on vehicles, especially those left parked under the direct sunlight. It’s common for Phoenicians to experience battery and tire pressure issues, engine warning lights due to broken hoses, belts, and fittings, and especially A/C failures. If you don’t want to end up broken down, we highly recommend you properly maintain your ride (especially older vehicles).

There are a few ways Buckeye car owners fight back against the relentless sun. For example, window tinting up to 33 percent light transmission is an effective way to prevent heat transfer into your car. If running errands, you’ll prevent a boiler room temperatures by using a window visor or parking under the shade.

Long time Buckeye residents know that it’s not just the sun that can lead to vehicle damage. Our monsoon storms are notorious for causing accidents due to poor visibility caused by heavy rains or dust storms. Accidents are more likely to happen a few minutes after rain starts to fall due to water mixing with our dusty roads, which causes slicks. Furthermore, these thunderstorms bring high winds that flails debris through the air, causes branches to fall, and even trees to topple. So be careful where you park during monsoon season.

When it comes to registering your car in Arizona, it’s done through ADOT. If you are registering an out-of-state vehicle, you may be required to undergo additional testing. Keep in mind that if you meet Arizona’s residency requirements, you have to register your vehicle in the state. You have to carry insurance on the vehicle you intend to register too. When you decide to sell your car, you have to complete a transfer-of-title (this can be done online or in SUYC’s case, we do this for you).

Buckeye is situated in Maricopa County and, as with Pima County in Southern Arizona, residents must get their five-year-old-plus vehicles emissions tested every two years. If you live outside these two counties, you’re in luck as emissions testing isn’t a requirement.

Due to the city being so far outside of Phoenix, morning and evening traffic isn’t quite as bad as other municipalities in the area. The I-10 connects drivers to the rest of the Valley, but this part of the interstate is typically busy 24/7. Gila Bend is approximately 35 miles south of Buckeye and those making the journey have state route 85 to use as a direct throughway.

There are a good few car clubs and meetups in or near Buckeye, including White Tank Customs & Classics, Cars-n-Coffee Buckeye, and Estrella Mountain Car Club to name a few.

Plenty of Buckeye commuters drive electric vehicles and hybrids to offset the cost of fuel. So you’ll see plenty of Prius, Leaf, and Tesla EVs on the roads. These vehicle owners have 31 public charging stations, half of which are Level 3, but unlike many other cities, none are free to use.
